About the Artist

Robyn Freedman

Welcome to my nest!

Hello, I’m Robyn.

After graduating from The Maryland Institute, College of Art, my career began in advertising and design.  This was a time when we did everything by hand.  That background has continued to be a part of my daily life.  Going back to basics to exercise my hands with pencils and brushes, watercolors have become my favorite medium, again.

I’ve been pouring my passion into a collection of art that shows nature through my eyes. The beach, the sand, the sky, the sunshine, the garden, the flowers, and all the natural beauty of Florida provides endless inspiration. I am drawn to the shapes, the colors, the freedom and direction of lines, the patterns, and growth in space.  My pencil and brushes don’t stop. There is a constant use of movement and energy within my work, as well as a strong set of colors from my surroundings.

Aside from my paintings, my art has grown in so many ways, including the creation of useable and wearable art. I love to liven up every day clothing and essential home items with my vivid artwork.

With my name being Robyn, it is fitting that I am associated with bird nests. theflyingbirdnest is symbolic of the numerous homes and locations that I have moved to, while managing to maintain my artistic spirit.  I find myself yearning to continue to learn and develop so I can continue to fill my nest with art.

Thank you for allowing me to share my special treasures with you.  Please join me on my flight as an artist.
